Alfa Slab

LET'S TYPE: Alfa Slab — PLETÓRICA DESIGNS

Alpha Slab is an old-school slab serifed typeface designed by Robert Thorne for the Thorowgood Foundry in 1921. This type reminds us of the old posters calling for the arrest of Old Wild West fugitives like Jesse James.

The use of Alpha Slab, as well as Chunk and Aurea Ultra, is usually limited to the logo and maybe one large title on a page.

As they are extremely heavy, this slab serif combines well with simpler fonts.
